Fans of seasoned fries now have another place to grab the popular snack in Dubai. Potato Corner has opened a new outlet at Flavya in Al Ghurair Centre, adding to its growing presence in Dubai. The new branch follows the brand’s first UAE store at Ibn Battuta Mall, which opened in 2022 and marked the company’s entry into the Gulf market. Known for its crispy fries served in cups and coated with bold flavours, Potato Corner has long been a familiar snack for Filipinos and has steadily attracted fans from other nationalities as well. According to Rolly Brucales, Managing Director of OTH Group, the brand’s popularity is tied to both nostalgia and its universal appeal. “A Filipino brand resonates strongly with Filipinos because it evokes an emotional connection: the flavors, brand personality, and even the serving style remind customers of mall hangouts, school breaks, and family bonding moments back in the Philippines,” Brucales said. “At the same time, fries are globally loved — crispy, shareable and customizable — making them easy for non-Filipinos to enjoy without cultural barriers,” he added. Another branch is also planned at BurJuman Centre as the brand continues to expand its footprint in the UAE. The company behind the franchise said it is also working on initiatives to support its workforce, including programs aimed at helping employees and their families. Through its Financial Education Support programme, OTH Group plans to help qualified children of its employees in the Philippines pursue their studies. The company has also introduced a Financial Literacy Program to help employees manage personal finances, including lessons on budgeting and saving.
