Indians show love to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visit to India has received a very warm welcome, with crowds of Indians seen waving UAE flags and carrying banners to greet the UAE leader, who addressed a forum on Wednesday (January 10) on the "power of building bridges". Sheikh Mohamed was seen waving back to the crowds who lined up the streets as they greeted him with banners and Emirati and Indian flags following his arrival from the Ahmedabad Airport on Tuesday (January 9). The UAE President is in India for a three-day working visit. He was received by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and they travelled in a motorcade to the venue for their meeting. They later signed key agreements in renewable energy, food processing and health care. On Wednesday Sheikh Mohamed addressed the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, a global business forum that he said has become an important international forum for exchange of expertise in economic growth. "The UAE firmly believes in the power of building bridges of cooperation to promote economic growth and fostering international collaboration to address global challenges and help achieve stability and prosperity for all," state news agency WAM quoted Sheikh Mohamed as saying. Prior to this trip to India, Sheikh Mohamed was in Baku, Azerbaijan for a two-day official visit. He visited the tomb of Azerbaijan’s national leader and founder Heydar Aliyev, and laid a wreath. He also visited the Martyrs’ Lane, placing a wreath at the Eternal Flame Memorial. Sheikh Mohamed is accompanied by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court.
