A car crash in Al Ain has claimed the lives of two Emirati sisters, one of whom was six months pregnant, authorities confirmed. The collision occurred on Tuesday (September 23) in the Oud Al Tawbah area when the sisters’ vehicle was struck head-on by another car. Police said the crash happened after a young Arab man, driving at excessive speed, lost control and swerved into the opposite lane, colliding directly with the sisters’ car. The women, identified by Arabic media as Iman Salem Marhoon Al Alawi and Amira Salem Marhoon Al Alawi, both in their thirties, died instantly. Funeral prayers were held on Wednesday after Asr prayer at the Martyr Omar Al Maqbali Mosque in the Um Ghafa area. They were laid to rest in the local cemetery. Family members expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, and appealed to young drivers to respect traffic laws and speed limits to prevent further accidents. Condolences have poured in from relatives and community members, who prayed for solace for the grieving family. ICA/Expat Media
