Prepaid Sharjah utility service lets you set your Sewa bill budget

SHARJAH - "I want Sewa to charge me Dh500. This is my budget for water and electricity this month." It will be as simple as that the next time you plan your budget. Utility bills with the Sharjah Water and Electricity Authority (Sewa) will soon be easy to plan and set after the company rolls out smart meters across the emirate. The smart meters allow customers to control their consumption and set a utility bill amount by using a prepaid system. It's just like using prepaid credit on your mobile phone. The pilot project is currently in operation in Muwaileh area, Hamriyah Free Zone and Sharjah Airport Free Zone where around 1,500 smart meters have been installed. Some 5,000 smart meters are being installed in Sharjah's industrial areas, and Sewa is going to gradually replace conventional meters in existing buildings with smart meters. Consumers who reach the limit will be able to “recharge” for service continuity.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
