Priest greets Abu Dhabi commuters on new bus route

DUBAI – Commuters on a new bus route passing by St. Joseph’s Cathedral Abu Dhabi were in seventh heaven when no less than the parish priest greeted them at the new bus stop. Fr. Johnson Kadukanmakal was spotted welcoming commuters as they alighted in front of the church following the launch of the new Express Bus service (X9) on Friday (September 20). He was later seen trying out the new service himself. Fr. Johnson Kadukanmakal greets commuters alighting in front of St. Joseph’s Cathedral Abu Dhabi. The new bus service operates only on Fridays and starts at the Abu Dhabi Bus Station, with stops at churches in the Al Karama area. The bus runs on a 30-minute interval from 6am to 9pm. St. Joseph’s Cathedral Abu Dhabi hailed the new service and thanked the Department of Transport (DOT) for “graciously a bus stop right in front of our church”. Commuters also welcomed the new bus service. “That’s great. No more taxi drops or treks down from the adjacent street,” said Caroline Ogechi Okoroji-Okeke. “Thanks to the DOT and the UAE Government for this consideration to the faithfuls in UAE particularly in Abu Dhabi. Much appreciated,” said Crescencio Martires Doma Jr. GAD/Expat Media Fr. Johnson Kadukanmakal greets commuters alighting in front of St. Joseph’s Cathedral Abu Dhabi.
