Saturday (October 8) will be a public holiday for federal government employees to mark the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. In a circular issued on Saturday (October 1), the authority said that work will resume on October 10 after the public holiday. For the private sector, October 8 will be a paid leave for all employees, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The birthday of Prophet Mohammad is celebrated on the 12th day of Rabi Al Awwal. To mark his birthday, Muslims read the Quran or fast.
