Public indecency is considered a crime in the UAE with a punishment of up to Dh100,000 in fine and jail time, the Public Prosecution has warned. First time violators will be fined between Dh1,000 and Dh50,000 while repeat offenders will be fined up to Dh100,000 and sentenced to jail of not less than three months. According to the Public Prosecution, the same punishment shall apply to any person who makes any statement or does any act that violates the principles of public morality. Indecency against minors will also be severely punished. "Whoever commits any disgraceful act with a female or a male aged less than fifteen, even in private place, shall be imprisoned for no less than one year," according to the Public Prosecution.
