A seven-meter-long reticulated python killed a man in a remote village in Sulawesi island in Indonesia by suffocating him then swallowed the victim whole. Akbar Salubiro, 25, a father of two, had been missing since March 26 after setting off to harvest palm oil in a plantation. Indonesian local media tribunsulbar.com said searchers found the python sprawled next to the plantation with Salubiro's boots visible in the snake's stomach. A reticulated python would suffocate its victim by coiling around it and once dead, the snake would swallow the victim whole. A video showed the snake being cut open slowly and revealing Salubiro's lifeless body inside. Salubiro's body was then removed from inside the python. Salubiro wife, Munu, who was away at that time, only found out about what happened to her husband when the video and pictures of the grisly incident came out in the news. "People had heard cries from the palm grove the night before Akbar was found in the snake's stomach," said village secretary Salubiro Junaidi.
