DUBAI – Heavy rain hit parts of the UAE on Sunday, with the national weather bureau predicting more rain and a significant drop in temperature.
Rain was reported in Dubai, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
The National Centre of Meteorology said the weather on Sunday will be “cloudy in general with rainfall over scattered parts of the country.”
The NCM said residents should also expect strong winds that will stir up a sandstorm in some areas.
Temperatures in coastal areas will drop to 13 degrees Celsius, while internal areas will have a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. Mountainous areas will feel temperatures dip to six degrees Celsius.

Tuesday, February 19
Partly cloudy to cloudy at times by evening over some areas especially Northern and Eastern parts of the country with a probability of some light rainfall. Moderate Westerly to Northwesterly winds at first, becoming fresh to strong by night, with a speed of 20 – 38 Km/hr, reaching 55 Km/hr. Sea will be moderate to rough becoming very rough by late night in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in Oman Sea.
Wednesday, February 20
Partly cloudy in general with a decrease in temperatures. Fresh Northwesterly winds in general and strong at times causing blowing dust and sand over exposed areas and reduction in horizontal visibility, with a speed of 20 – 38 Km/hr, reaching 55 Km/hr. Sea will be very rough to rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea.
Thursday, February 21
Partly cloudy in general. Moderate to fresh Northerly to Northeasterly winds with a speed of 20 – 30 Km/hr, reaching 45 Km/hr.
