The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted rainy conditions across parts of the UAE on Friday (October 18). The weather will be partly cloudy with a chance of heavy rainfall, particularly in the eastern and western regions of the country. The rainy spell is expected to result from a low-pressure system currently developing over the Arabian Sea, along the coast of Oman. This system is moving towards the UAE, bringing with it a mix of varying cloud cover and precipitation. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northeasterly, blowing at light to moderate speeds but occasionally intensifying. These gusts could raise dust and sand, leading to reduced visibility in some areas. The sea conditions are forecasted to remain calm to moderate, with slight waves in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. Residents are advised to be cautious during outdoor activities, particularly in regions prone to heavy rainfall. Several areas, including Al Ain, Sa'a, and Al Dhafra, experienced light to moderate rainfall earlier this week as part of the same weather system. Satellite images from the NCM confirm that this pattern will continue throughout the weekend, with Saturday's forecast showing partly cloudy skies and intermittent rain. Temperatures are also expected to rise, with humidity levels increasing at night, particularly along the coast and in inland regions. On Sunday (October 20), the weather will remain partly cloudy and humid, with a higher chance of fog in the early morning. Winds will continue to blow from the southeast, shifting later to the northwest, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h. By Monday (October 21), the skies will clear, but residents may still experience periods of high humidity and the formation of light fog in the mornings. Given the unpredictability of rain and the potential for fog, the NCM advises motorists to drive with caution and adhere to speed limits, especially in areas where visibility may be compromised.
