UAE residents can expect more rain showers on Wednesday and Thursday, following light rain that swept across several parts of the country, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). On Tuesday, showers were reported in Falaj Hazza, Al Ain, Tawiyah in Fujairah, and Hamim in Al Dhafra, with additional rainfall recorded in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and several islands. The unstable weather is linked to a weak low-pressure system affecting both surface and upper atmospheric levels. The NCM warns that some inland, coastal, and island areas could experience more showers on Wednesday and Thursday. The forecast indicates partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with humidity increasing at night and early morning, raising the possibility of fog formation in certain areas. On Wednesday, light rain is expected in the northern parts of the country, with winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 35 km/h, according to the NCM. Sea conditions will range from moderate to light in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea. By Thursday, temperatures will begin to rise gradually, particularly in coastal areas and islands, though scattered rain showers may persist. The NCM forecast states that northeasterly to southeasterly winds will remain light to moderate, with speeds between 10 to 30 km/h. The weather will also be humid on Thursday night and Friday morning, increasing the chances of light fog formation in some coastal and inland areas.

Rough seas and strong winds

Earlier on Tuesday, the NCM issued an alert about strong northwesterly winds reaching up to 40 km/h, causing rough seas in the Arabian Gulf with waves reaching up to 6 feet. These conditions are expected to ease by Wednesday morning, but residents are advised to remain cautious while at sea. For beachgoers, the Arabian Gulf is expected to remain moderately rough in the morning but will calm later, while the Sea of Oman will continue to have slight waves. The NCM urges residents to stay updated on weather alerts and avoid unnecessary travel during rainy conditions. Drivers should also exercise caution, as rain and fog may reduce visibility on the roads. ICA/Expat Media
