More rain forecast as waterlogged Dubai roads slow down traffic
DUBAI – Flooding in parts of International City in Dubai on Friday (June 21) slowed down traffic as motorists carefully drove their vehicles through waterlogged roads.
Parts of the roads in the residential area were swamped with up to 5 inches of rainwater. Parts of the Al Awir Road and Ras Al Khor Road near Dragon Mart were also flooded.
As Expat Media drove through the area, at least one sewage truck was already suctioning in the floodwaters in one of the residential clusters.
Meanwhile, Skies remained overcast on Friday afternoon, with the national weather bureau forecasting more rainfall until Saturday.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will remain “dusty and partly cloudy at times, with rainclouds over some eastern and southern areas”.
The weather bureau also forecast fog as humidity levels peak to 85 percent during the night.

eastward by afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate and fresh at times Northwesterly westward and Easterly winds eastward, causing blowing dust with a speed of 18 – 28, reaching 38 km/hr. Sea will be slight to moderate in Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
Monday, June 24
Partly cloudy and dusty at times daytime over some areas. with the probability of some
convective clouds formation Eastwards. Winds will be light to moderate Northwesterly westward and Easterly over the eastern areas, freshening at times, causing blowing dust, with a speed of 18 – 28, reaching 38 km/hr. Sea will be Slight to moderate in Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
