RAK Police urge motorists to verify their registration papers to prepare for inspection campaign

Ras Al Khaimah Police have advised motorcycle owners to check their registration documents and verify that they are valid as part of a drive to crack down on unauthorized two-wheelers. Brig-Gen Ahmed Al-Sam Al-Naqbi, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department in Ras Al Khaimah and head of the Federal Traffic Council's Traffic Awareness and Culture Team, stated that the campaign would last a month, covering the entire emirate. It will target motorcycles and bicycles that break safety laws and regulations. Brig-Gen Al Naqbi urged motorbike owners to get their vehicles serviced and to ride only after acquiring a license. Officers will be deployed to all highways in the emirate, including internal streets, to seek unregistered motorbikes and cyclists who violate traffic laws, according to Lt-Col Salem Bourguiba, head of the Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police and leader of the Campaign Team. The officer warned that violators' bikes would be confiscated. The program extends the previous year's initiative to improve road safety. Residents are advised to report any violations or disruptions in their neighborhoods by dialing 0509990299, according to Lt-Col Bourguiba. BKM/ Expat Media
