Ramadan fridge goes missing in Dubai's Satwa area   DUBAI - A Ramadan fridge has been reported missing in Dubai’s Satwa area, with organisers dismissing reports that the fridge was stolen. The fridge was one of more than 100 fridges stocked with free food and drinks for the underprivileged in Dubai as part of the Ramadan Sharing Fridges initiative. The fridge that was reported missing on Thursday was taken in front of a villa in Satwa, but organisers believe it was a simple mistake. Sumayyah Sayed, one of the organisers, said they believe someone had mistakenly taken the fridge thinking it was an unwanted item. Sayed said the organisation has not reported the incident to the police "to give the person the benefit of the doubt". Sayed is hoping that the fridge will soon be returned, and added that a resident has donated another fridge for the initiative. The initiative has drawn thousands of volunteers, with the group’s Facebook page alone registering 22,395 members as of Saturday. On Friday, the group said it received a donation of 5,000 litres of organic milk from a company. “It was dropped off at one of our Sharing Fridges location. Our fridge managers were on standby in the heat, loaded their cars and off they went. It was close to 40 degrees outside but we powered on!!!” Sayed said on a Facebook post.
