The Ras Al Khaimah Court of First Instance has acquitted two men and three women of forgery charges due to lack of evidence. The court also dismissed a civil lawsuit that a contracting company filed against the group. The Public Prosecution previously charged a woman with providing false information related to forgery. A man and another woman were charged for  participating in the crime, while a third woman was charged for breaching the privacy of the duo by posting their private calls on WhatsApp. The Public Prosecution also charged a second man for misappropriation of funds. The suspects were accused of forging documents that were submitted as part of a public bidding process by a government agency. The group said that it was actually one of their colleagues who mistakenly sent an email to the government agency, which included the profile of another company. The said colleague has reportedly been dismissed due to the mistake. According to the court, there was no proof that the group intended to commit forgery. The court also said that the woman who recorded the calls between the man and another woman was not done with the intent to breach their privacy. The court indicated that the elements of the crime of forgery were not available and that it was not proved that the third suspect recorded the calls with the intention of breaching privacy.
