Ras Al Khaimah: Father ordered to pay Dh11,000 for assaulting son, ex-wife

A father in Ras Al Khaimah was convicted of assaulting his 10-year-old son and ex-wife and violently dragging his son into a school bus. The ex-wife filed a lawsuit, seeking that the defendant pays her Dh60,000 in restitution for moral and material losses. According to the defendant's counsel, his client filed a lawsuit against the plaintiff to see his son. She was ordered to be arrested since she did not comply with the judgment and changed her residence. According to the medical report, the plaintiff had severe bruising on her right shoulder, while her son had pain in his right forearm. This suggests that the defendant assaulted them on the day of the incident on purpose. The father was convicted and ordered to pay a Dh11,000 fine, legal expenses, and attorney fees. BKM/ Expat Media
