A total of 20 AI-powered smart gates will be installed on main roads in Ras Al Khaimah, according to the head of Ras Al Khaimah Police. The smart gates will have screens to alert road users about weather and traffic conditions, and smart cameras to monitor and analyse traffic and report accidents, said Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of RAK Police. "After completing the first phase, during which the infrastructure was completed and smart cameras specialised in security monitoring and traffic control in the areas were installed on all vital roads of RAK," Al Nuaimi said. The installation of smart gates is part of Ras Al Khaimah’s digital city system project under the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to improve safety in the emirate. According to RAK Police, the smart gates will ensure smooth and safe traffic on the emirate’s roads and help police quickly and efficiently respond to road accidents and emergencies. ICA/Expat Media
