Ras Al Khaimah Police have announced a complete ban on operating drones and light sport aircraft in the emirate as authorities tighten safety measures across the country. Officials said the decision comes in response to exceptional circumstances currently affecting the UAE. The move follows an earlier announcement by the General Civil Aviation Authority, which suspended flight permits for several types of recreational and unmanned aircraft. The aviation authority said the suspension covers gliders, drones, unmanned aerial vehicles or remote controlled aircraft, and amateur aircraft. The restriction took effect on February 28 and applies across UAE airspace. Authorities said operating any of these aircraft during the suspension period is strictly prohibited. Officials emphasised that compliance with the order is mandatory. Those found violating the ban may face legal action under UAE aviation and safety laws.
