Authorities have released new details about the deadly road rage shooting in Ras Al Khaimah that claimed the lives of a 66-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 36 and 38. A third daughter, 47, sustained serious injuries. The suspect, an Arab man, has been arrested following an intense investigation by Ras Al Khaimah Police. Officers responded swiftly to the shooting, which began after a dispute over a narrow road escalated into deadly violence. “He ran her over and then shot her in the head,” said Maher Salem Wafai, son and brother of the victims. “When another sister approached, he shot her too. My mother, trying to avoid the horrific scene, was also shot along with my other sister, who rushed to help.” The suspect used a firearm during the incident. The weapon has been recovered, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution. Ras Al Khaimah Police reiterated the UAE’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal firearms and urged the public to resolve disputes peacefully. The law strictly prohibits individuals from possessing or using firearms without a valid license, which is issued only to Emirati citizens. "Avoid escalating daily disputes," police warned. "Anyone threatening public safety will face strict legal action." The incident echoes a landmark 2005 case where a man was given the death sentence for fatally shooting another motorist during a road rage incident in Ajman.
