Ras Al Khaimah: Volunteers clean up 1,655 tonnes of mixed waste

This week, hundreds of volunteers worked in Ras Al Khaimah to remove 1,655 tonnes of mixed waste as part of a massive campaign to clean up the picturesque UAE landscape. About 800 volunteers collected the trash from a 3-kilometer-squared section of land in the Al Mazra'a part of the emirate before separating it into recyclable and landfill waste. The fifth leg of the "Clean UAE" campaign by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development. The initiative is currently in its second week, cleaning up picturesque areas of Ras Al Khaimah, and has already traveled through Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah, and Dubai. BKM/ Expat Media
