Dubai Police wasted no time in apprehending a reckless driver performing dangerous stunts in the Al Marmoom area during recent rainfall. “The driver’s actions were extremely hazardous, posing risks to public safety and disrupting the area,” said Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police. Police patrols caught the driver in the act, swiftly impounding the vehicle and issuing fines in accordance with Federal Traffic and Road Laws. Under Decree No. 30 of 2023, the impounded vehicle can only be released after paying a Dh50,000 fine, along with any other outstanding fines. Dubai Police reiterated their zero-tolerance policy on reckless driving. “Such behavior endangers lives and jeopardizes road safety,” said Major General Al Mazrouei. Offenders face severe penalties, including legal summons and potential prosecution. This latest incident follows a series of warnings from authorities urging drivers to exercise caution during rain, which can reduce visibility and make roads slippery. Residents are reminded to follow safety guidelines, such as maintaining a safe distance between vehicles and reducing speed during adverse weather.
