Reckless school bus driver arrested in Abu Dhabi

  DUBAI - A driver who nearly ran over a child and a bus supervisor with a school bus has been arrested in Abu Dhabi, police said. A video of the incident showed the school bus speeding past another school bus that stopped while the bus supervisor was dropping off a child at his home. The child and the school supervisor were nearly hit by the speeding bus as they were about to cross the road. Police have detained the bus driver for reckless driving and seized the bus. In the UAE, it is illegal for motorists to ignore the school bus stop sign. Motorists must stop until the bus stop sign folds back in and the bus moves on its way. Violators will be fined Dh1,000 and given 10 black points.
