Watch: GCC's  first children's hospital opens in Dubai

  DUBAI - The region's first specialty hospital for children, Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital, opened its doors to the public on Tuesday (November 1). “Human health comes at the foreword of our priorities and the UAE gives it great attention as part of its strategy to strengthen the capacity of the health-care sector and boost its infrastructure to be able to provide quality services across all medical disciplines,” said His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as he inaugurated the hospital. Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by his daughter Shaikha Al Jalila. In 2008, Shaikh Mohammed announced the establishment of a dedicated 200-bed children’s speciality hospital in Dubai, saying there were no dedicated paediatric speciality hospital in the GCC. Al Jalila Children’s Hospital is equipped with the latest medical technology and is located in an eco-friendly building.
