  SHARJAH – A new medical report showed revealing details about a 29-year-old Emirati man who slit his mother’s throat and lived with her corpse for 10 days in their Sharjah apartment. According to the medical report from Al Amal Hospital, which was presented to a Sharjah court, the Emirati suffers from psychological disorders. A psychiatrist evaluated the man three times before the report was released to the Sharjah Public Prosecution on Wednesday (August 10). According to the report, the Emirati was treated for psychological disorders in Denmark but did not complete his treatment. The report suggests he was not aware of his actions when he killed his mother in June last year. During police interrogation, the man said he murdered his 50-year-old mother in their apartment in Sharjah’s Al Mamzar area to punish her for practicing withcraft. In court, the Emirati told the judge that his mother was a witch and that he had “divine message” to kill her. Police found out about the incident after receiving a call about a knife-wielding man who had refused to pay for his grocery items at the check out counter of a Sharjah supermarket. When police arrested the Emirati and asked for identification, he took them to his apartment where police found the woman’s decomposing body. The court will issue a verdict next week.
