As the unpredictable autumn weather continued, a mini tornado was captured on camera in the rural areas of Sharjah. A video of the weather event, which occurred in a rural area of the emirate, was posted by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Tornadoes, also known as twisters, are vertical funnels of rapidly spinning air that usually forms during thunderstorms. Videos showed heavy rain falling in various regions. Autumn in the UAE can be unpredictable, with temperatures hovering around 40oC with extremely high humidity that sometimes reaches 100%. Last week, a tiny tornado was also reported rushing through Al Ain as heavy rain and severe winds pummeled vast portions of the east. Although uncommon in the UAE, such phenomena can occur during bouts of unstable weather. The weekend forecast predicts partly overcast skies during the day, with winds gusting to 30-45 km/h. High humidity at night may cause hazy mornings for the following few days. Temperatures in the UAE will reach the 30s this weekend, with Al Ain reaching 39ºC on Sunday.
