‘Rising sandstorm’, chance of rain forecast to hit UAE

  DUBAI – A “rising sandstorm” will build up in the UAE in the next three days, while there’s a chance of rain in one emirate, forecasters said. The sandstorm will be the effect of low pressure acceleration and southerly winds, according to the National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS). Dusty conditions are expected to lower visibility down to 1,500 meters, the NCMS said on Wednesday (July 27). The weather bureau said that much of the dust storm will be felt in the UAE’s interior areas, while winds are expected to kick up more dust in the mornings. In Al Ain and the southern parts of the emirate, the NCMS said there is a chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.
