The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that its service centres will be closed on Sunday (September 15) in observance of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. The authority's services will resume on Monday (September 16) with the regular operating hours. In earlier announcements, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) also announced a closure on Sunday, suspending visa amnesty services. Furthermore, the UAE announced a paid holiday on Sunday for employees working in the public and private sectors. Sharjah also announced free public parking, except in the parking zones in Muwaileh commercial area. In many Islamic countries, including those in the Gulf, the Prophet's birthday is celebrated on 12 Rabi' Al-Awwal 1444, the third month of the Islamic calendar. FLE/Expat Media
