Dubai's RTA introduces multi-vehicle permits through smart platforms for enhanced accessibility

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to launch a free smart parking permit service for senior citizens and individuals with determination. Starting on August 20, the free smart parking permit service will allow the registration of up to five vehicles using a single permit, targeting senior citizens and people of determination. The process will be carried out digitally through the RTA website and mobile app. The free parking permits provided to Senior Emiratis and People of Determination include a range of services, including issuing and renewing permits for Senior Emiratis that allow them to use public parking for free. It also includes permanent and temporary permits, tourist permit, permit for rehabilitation and permit for special medical conditions for people of determination, allowing them to use public parking for free along with parking slots for people of determination. Applicants will receive notifications through text messages prompting them to update their permits. These notifications will include an electronic link sent to their registered phone numbers, enabling them to electronically activate the permit. These efforts align with Dubai's "smart city" vision, focusing on inclusivity. This shift towards user-centered services marks a substantial move towards sustainability and improved service quality, also reducing the need for in-person visits to service centers.

How to apply for RTA Smart Parking Permit

Access the RTA Website or Mobile App

  • Ensure you have access to the internet on your device.
  • Open your web browser and navigate to the official RTA website (www.rta.ae) or download the RTA mobile app from your device's app store.

Log In or Create an Account

  • If you have an existing RTA account, log in using your credentials (username and password). If not, you'll need to create a new account by providing your personal details and contact information.

Navigate to the Parking Permit Section

  • Once logged in, look for the "Parking Permits" or "Smart Parking" section on the website or app. This is where you'll find information about the new digitized parking permits for Senior Emiratis and People of Determination.

Apply for a Smart Parking Permit

  • Click on the option to apply for the new smart parking permit for Senior Emiratis and People of Determination.

Provide Required Information

  • Fill in the necessary details, including your Emirates ID information, vehicle details (primary and secondary vehicles if applicable), and any other relevant information requested by the system.

Review and Confirm
