Dubai Metro, which has been taking commuters to places since September 9, 2009, is gearing up for its highly anticipated 15th-anniversary celebration with exciting activities and initiatives to look forward to. As part of the celebration, The Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) will also celebrate 'Metro babies,' or those born on the same date the Metro began its operation. According to an announcement on X, RTA will offer academic sponsorship to qualified 'Metro babies' to pursue higher education. To qualify, they must: 1. Be a UAE National; 2. Have been born on September 9, 2009; 3. Have a cumulative GPA of over 90 percent; 4. Pursue studies in one of the following fields: BSc in Electromechanical Engineering, BSc in Mechanical Engineering, BSc in Civil Engineering, BSc in Data Science, and BSc in Computer Science. For those who want to know more about the scholarship's eligibility criteria, you can visit RTA's website: rta.ae Meanwhile, Legoland Dubai will also organise a special event for 'Metro babies' born between 2009 and 2023. Activities and special events to look forward to on Dubai Metro's anniversary include the release of limited edition stamps, special nol cards, limited edition Dubai Metro-shaped ice cream, and live musical performances, among others.
