RTA reduces speed limit on Dubai-Hatta Road

Starting from January 12, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reduced the speed limit on Dubai-Hatta Road in the sector stretching between Dubai, Ajman, and Al Hosn Roundabout from 100 km/h to 80 km/h, covering roughly 6 kilometers. Existing speed limit signs indicating 100 km/h have been replaced with signs indicating 80 km/h. Red lines will be marked at the start of the speed reduction zone to alert drivers according to the traffic safety standards in place. The speed reduction was implemented in collaboration with the RTA and the Dubai Police Headquarters and was based on research that took the Hatta Master Development Plan into account. The study examined potential improvements to the Dubai-Hatta Road and an estimate for future traffic loads on the road. The speed limit zone is around 6 kilometers long, and red lines were drawn at the beginning of the area, as is common on Dubai highways. RTA constantly analyzes speed limits on critical Dubai highways and depends on Dubai's speed management manual, which follows the highest international standards. BKM/ Expat Media
