Former champion Andrey Rublev faces Arthur Rinderknech in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Thursday (February 26). Rublev’s match against French tennis player Rinderknech will be held at the Centre Court at 7pm. On Wednesday night (February 25), Rublev defeated France’s Ugo Humbert to reach the quarterfinals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, while Rinderknech defeated British fourth seed Jack Draper 7-5, 6-7, 6-4 in a match that finished after midnight. Rublev won 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3 in front of a near-capacity crowd on Centre Court on Wednesday (February 25). The match remained tight early, with both players holding serve until the seventh game of the opening set when Rublev broke after two double faults from Humbert. That single break proved decisive. Humbert edged a tense second-set tiebreak 7-5 to level the match. In the deciding set, Rublev moved 4-1 ahead. Serving for the match at 5-3, he faced two break points but delivered three strong serves, including two aces, to close it out. “It was a very dramatic ending,” Rublev said. “I’m really happy I was able to keep going and save the last game.
