Sandstorm to sweep parts of UAE, NCMS warns

  ABU DHABI - A sandstorm is expected to hit parts of the UAE on Thursday, with the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) saying that strong northwesterly winds will stir up dust. NCMS also urged motorists to exercise caution, reduce driving speed and leave enough distance between vehicles when driving with reduced road visibility. In a statement, NCMS said that wet weather is expected on the west coast in the evening, especially with gradual decrease in the temperature on the coasts. The humidity level will increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas. It advised that those who frequent the sea that the Arabian Gulf will be rough in the evening. On Friday, the weather is expected to be fair in general, and hazy at times during the day. Humidity levels will increase during night and early morning over some internal and coastal areas, with a chance of mist or fog formation.
