Expats planning their final exit from Saudi Arabia should take note of an important requirement for their resident ID, the General Directorate of Passports announced. Key resident ID rules to obtain a final exit visa: • The resident ID must be valid for at least 30 days. • If the ID is valid for less than 30 days, it must be renewed before a final exit visa can be issued. For IDs valid between 30 and 60 days, the visa duration will match the remaining validity. For IDs with over 60 days of validity, the visa is capped at 60 days. Employers and heads of households can easily issue exit visas through the Absher and Muqeem platforms free of charge. This clarification ensures smoother transitions for expats leaving the kingdom.
