An investigation was underway on Thursday (July 27), a day after a Saudi fighter jet crashed during a training mission in the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait. The crash resulted in the death of the aircraft’s crew, according to state news agency Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The number of crew members involved in the crash was initially unknown. Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, announced that a type F combat aircraft from the Royal Saudi Air Force crashed during a training mission in the training area of King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait at 2:29pm on Wednesday. The F-15SA fighter jet involved in the crash is a two-seat aircraft. Brigadier General Al-Maliki extended his sympathies to the relatives of the crew members of the jet that crashed. He described the crew members as “honorable martyrs” and offered condolences to their families. JAC/Expat Media
