Dubai residents looking for quality healthcare at affordable prices should consider getting an Emirates Health Services (EHS) health card. With an EHS card, residents can access healthcare services without the additional 20% service charges found at other facilities. What is an EHS Health Card? EHS manages over 100 healthcare facilities in the UAE, including 13 hospitals and 59 primary health centers. As a resident, you can apply for the EHS health card at any EHS-operated hospital, clinic, or typing center. Once registered, your health card links to your Emirates ID. Requirements - Valid Emirates ID. If you are applying for a newborn, you must provide the following: - Birth certificate - Passports of both parents - Emirates IDs of both parents (if applicable) - Residence permits of both parents (if applicable) Validity Period Expatriates: One year UAE and GCC Nationals: Five years Cost Expatriate health card fee: Dh100 UAE Citizen and GCC Citizen health card fee: Dh20 Smart service fee: Dh15 How to Apply You can apply for an EHS health card through various methods: - Registered typing centers - EHS website - EHS mobile app (available for Android and Apple devices) - Any EHS-operated hospital or clinic Online Application Process To apply online, follow these steps: 1. Go to the EHS website and go to the 'Services' section. Search for 'Health Card' and click 'Issue a Health Card' and then click 'Start Service'. 2. Log in using your UAE Pass. 3. Select 'I am the applicant' and choose to apply for a new health card. Select 'Resident' as your visa type and 'Emirates ID' as your identification document. 4. Fill in your personal details, including your name, date of birth, nationality, gender, email, and mobile number. These details may auto-fill if you sign in with UAE Pass. 5. Upload a copy of your Emirates ID. The system will automatically access your Emirates ID information when logged in with UAE Pass, so manual upload is not needed. Click 'Proceed.' 6. Review the fees and click 'Pay.' You can use a credit or debit card. Once your payment is confirmed and the application is approved, your health card will link to your Emirates ID.
