Jeon Cyrus, a Filipino performer and Stell Ajero lookalike, recently turned to social media to express his heartbreak after receiving harsh online criticism following his guest appearance on the popular noontime show It’s Showtime. In his post, the Cebu native voiced concerns that his idol, SB19’s Stell, might face additional online bashing because of his resemblance to the singer. Cyrus joined It’s Showtime during a Kalokalike segment, spreading joy as a doppelgänger of Stell. However, the lighthearted performance was marred by hurtful comments from netizens. Many accused him of intensifying negative attention on Stell, especially with the recent “fame shame/visual” controversy involving the SB19 member. “What really broke my heart is seeing people create stories that Kuya Stell might face more bashing because of me,” Jeon Cyrus wrote in a Facebook post. He further explained that while he anticipated criticism, the attacks on Stell due to his appearance felt particularly painful. In his heartfelt post, Cyrus clarified that ABS-CBN invited him to perform on the show, offering him a chance to showcase his talents. “FYI, ABS-CBN reached out to me. I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to perform,” he said, dispelling any notions that he sought attention at Stell’s expense. The performer also urged netizens to stop the hate, asking them not to blame him for any negative reactions Stell might face. “Please stop accusing me of fueling the fire that might bring more negativity towards Kuya Stell,” he wrote. Despite the negativity, Jeon Cyrus thanked SB19’s fanbase, A’TIN, for their unwavering support. He concluded his post by acknowledging the love he received and expressing gratitude to his dance group, TITANS. ICA/Expat Media WATCH: SB19 take the Expat Media Challenge
