The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has shut down seven restaurants and food establishments across the emirate in the first quarter of 2025 for failing to comply with food safety regulations. This action is part of ADAFSA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the food safety system and protecting public health in the emirate. In March, ADAFSA intensified its inspection efforts, especially during Ramadan, conducting surprise checks on food facilities across Abu Dhabi. As a result, four establishments were closed for violating food safety standards. These included a restaurant and a café on Hamdan Street, a supermarket in Al Khalidiya, another supermarket in Musaffah Industrial Area, and a poultry farm in Al Ajban. Additional closures included a commercial facility in Al Shahama and a grocery store in Musaffah area 9. The closures were part of ADAFSA’s annual campaign aimed at raising awareness about food safety and ensuring that food establishments meet the necessary standards. The authority also emphasized that these campaigns will continue throughout the year to maintain safe food supplies for consumers. Sami Al Falasi, Director of Food Safety at ADAFSA, assured the public that food products across all restaurants, cafes, and food outlets are inspected regularly. "We are committed to keeping the food supply chain safe for all. Our annual inspection campaigns are designed to ensure compliance with the highest standards," Al Falasi said.
