Global Village in Dubai witnessed an unforgettable night on Sunday (January 26) as Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan graced the stage in a grand celebration of India’s Republic Day. The event, attended by an estimated 80,000 fans, was filled with music, dance, and heartfelt moments, marking another milestone in the actor's illustrious career spanning nearly three decades. Known for his charm and charisma, Khan connected effortlessly with the crowd, delivering a mix of performances and interactions that left fans spellbound. “Thank you for being so kind. Thank you for giving me the chance to interact with over 80,000 of you. God bless you all,” he said in his closing remarks, amidst roaring applause. Adding a touch of humor, SRK invited Dubai-based entertainer and his popular lookalike, Durgesh Goyal, to the stage. “If Global Village wants a second event tomorrow, please call Durgesh!” Khan joked, prompting laughter from the audience. Durgesh, previously featured by Expat Media for his remarkable impersonation skills, performed SRK’s iconic moves, adding to the evening's excitement. Fans took center stage as well, showcasing their love and admiration. A young woman impressed the crowd by reciting a famous dialogue from Mohabbatein, while another fan from Pakistan shared a heartfelt message. The night was a complete spectacle, featuring confetti showers, fireworks, and t-shirt cannons fired into the crowd. Global Village’s India Pavilion also contributed to the festivities, offering cultural displays and a vibrant atmosphere. Khan’s ties to the UAE are well-established. As Dubai Tourism’s brand ambassador, he has participated in major events, including the IIFA Awards and the launch of his son Aryan’s streetwear brand.
