Shared apartments in Dubai: Occupant registration deadline looms under new rule

Dubai tenants and homeowners sharing their apartments or home have been given a two-week deadline to register the details of all co-occupants with the Dubai Land Department (DLD). This comes after the DLD issued a circular that registration must be completed in a "maximum of two weeks with immediate effect," which can be done through the Dubai REST app. In the circular, the DLD advised all owners, developers, property management firms, and tenants to register the names and contact details of co-occupants in owned and leased homes. All owners, developers, property management organizations, and tenants must follow an eight-step process, which includes submitting their personal information and Emirates ID, to register their co-occupants.
