Sharjah is gearing up for a remarkable transformation as the Al Rafia Park in the Al Batayeh area is set to become the most beautiful park in the region. Spanning an impressive 30 square kilometers, the park is designed to provide an oasis for residents, promoting community well-being and leisure. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, shared the ambitious plans during the “Direct Line” program on Sharjah Radio and Television. Sheikh Dr. Sultan emphasized the emirate's ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents. “It is our duty to provide the residents with a happy life, and to protect them, their children, and the elderly among them," he said. The park is set to offer expansive green spaces, walking trails, and areas dedicated to families and children. The development of Al Rafia Park is part of a broader initiative by the Sharjah government to enhance the emirate’s public parks and leisure facilities. Earlier this year, the ruler also announced that the Mleiha desert would be transformed into a national park, further underscoring Sharjah’s dedication to environmental preservation and public well-being. In addition to the Al Rafia Park, Sheikh Dr. Sultan has directed the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey to allocate land for parks in every neighborhood within the central region of the emirate. This move is designed to ensure that every community has access to green spaces and recreational areas, creating healthier environments for all residents. The new park is expected to be a hub of activity, providing a serene environment for families and a space for community gatherings.
