Sharjah boy dies from inhaling toxic pesticide

DUBAI - A 10-year-old Pakistani boy was killed after inhaling toxic pesticide fumes from his neighbours apartment in Sharjah, police said. The victim, Komal Khan, died after reaching the hospital. His sister is currently in the intensive care unit, while their parents were also hospitalized but have since been discharged. Medical reports confirmed that the family was exposed to toxic fumes. A police investigation into the incident is underway. Initial forensic investigation revealed that aluminum phosphide, a toxic chemical, was sprayed from the apartment of their neighbor in the Al Nahda area. Toxic gas can be spread through openings like windows, air conditioning ducts and vents. Police suspect that the Khan’s neighbours used the chemical without seeking professional help.
