A reckless motorist in Sharjah has landed in legal trouble after being caught on video driving along a pedestrian sidewalk, endangering public safety. The footage, which quickly circulated on social media, showed a black Hyundai sedan veering onto the sidewalk in a blatant violation of traffic laws. Sharjah Police immediately identified the driver, seized the vehicle for 60 days, and slapped the motorist with fines and black points on his driving license. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action. Sharjah Police stressed that such behaviour poses a “direct threat to the safety of society” and reiterated the importance of obeying traffic regulations. Authorities also praised the public for reporting violations, saying community vigilance plays a key role in maintaining road safety. “We will continue to detect and crack down on reckless driving to protect lives and property,” the force said in a statement.
