Sharjah: Emirati Book Fair opens on Thursday

The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), in collaboration with the Emirates Writers Union, will host the 2nd edition of the Emirati Book Fair (EBF) on April 21st at the SBA offices in Al Zahia, Sharjah. The book expo will offer panel discussions and poetry evenings conducted by prominent Emirati authors and intellectuals from 21:00 to 01:00. The book expo underlines the authority's objective to strengthen and progress the local book industry movement by deliberating with creatives and prominent Emirati authors and intellectuals, according to Khawla Al Mujaini, Director of Exhibitions and Festivals at the SBA. She added that the cultural event hosted during Ramadan, the EBF will also highlight the Emirati book market and provide the public with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge. Ali Al Abdan, Dr. Hamad Ben Saray, Shaikha Al Mutairi, Ahmad Al Assam, Amal Al Sahlawi, Awad bin Hasoum Al Darmaki, Salha Obaid, Eman Al Yousuf, Alia Al Mansoori, and Mona Alraisi will participate in the exhibition to discuss a variety of cultural topics, including the Emirati writer's global presence, musical anthropology in Sharjah, and the creative. The four-day event will give a forum for publishers, authors, and intellectuals to network, promote new publications by young authors and throw light on the creative journeys of the UAE's literary talent. Apart from highlighting the UAE's vibrant cultural sector, it will cover a variety of cultural themes. The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), the Poetry Academy, Al Qasimi Publications, Kalimat, Al Hudhud Publishing and Distribution, and other local cultural institutions, projects, and publishers are among those taking part in the local event.
