Sharjah expat wins Dh12 million in Big Ticket, Filipino wins Dh100,000

  DUBAI – A Sharjah-based engineer won the jackpot in the Big Ticket draw, taking home Dh12 million after buying tickets in the last four years. Shivamurthygali Krishnappa, 42, won the grand prize in the draw on Wednesday (March 3). He was ecstatic when he received the call from Big Ticket host, Richard. The Indian engineer said he has been buying Big Ticket on his own in the last year after his friends stopped pooling their money to buy tickets to the monthly draws after three years of not winning anything. Krishnappa, who has lived in the UAE since 2005, said he never lost hope that his dream of winning will come true. He bought winning ticket 202511 on February 17. His advice to other hopefuls out there? “First thing you should do is trust in Big Ticket because it is an investment. One day you will win so continue to buy because I have been buying for 4 years now and now my dream have come true,” he said. Wednesday’s draw also saw Indian national Jayaprakash Philip winning the second prize of Dh1 million, and Filipino man Orlando Viray taking the third prize of Dh100,000.
