A four-member Arab gang who impersonated police and stole laptops worth Dh1.7 million has been arrested in Sharjah, according to Sharjah Police on Thursday (July 25). Police said the gang members introduced themselves as police officers when they stopped an Asian delivery truck driver in an industrial area and seized his vehicle that contained 1,840 laptops. The driver later found out he was duped and alerted police of the incident. A team of investigators, led by the Criminal Investigation Department, worked on the case and were able to identify and arrest the perpetrators within 48 hours,  said Colonel Abdulrahman Nasser Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigations Department at Sharjah Police. The Sharjah Police emphasized the importance of public cooperation in solving such cases. They urged businesses to enhance their security measures and remain vigilant.
