Three Asian residents have been recognised by the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority for their courageous actions and swift response during several fire incidents that helped authorities protect lives and property. The men were honoured during a ceremony led by Brigadier Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General of the authority, and Brigadier Saeed Obaid Rashid Al Suwaidi. Officials said the recognition came “in appreciation of their humanitarian stances and active contributions in dealing with a number of fire incidents.” The honourees were identified as Jaber Dawood Suleiman of Sharjah City Municipality, and Rahim Marwan and Adel Ali Shawal of Al Marwan Contracting Company. Authorities said the three men acted immediately during emergencies, offering practical assistance and cooperating closely with civil defence teams, helping contain incidents and reduce damage. Brigadier Al Shamsi said the authority remains committed to recognising positive examples of public responsibility. He said quick action, prompt reporting and cooperation with emergency teams are essential in improving response efficiency, noting that public awareness remains a vital pillar in strengthening Sharjah’s safety system. Brigadier Al Suwaidi praised the trio’s response, saying responsible individual action directly contributes to stronger community safety. The recognition forms part of Sharjah Civil Defence’s broader efforts to encourage civic responsibility and reinforce a culture where residents actively support emergency response efforts.
