Motorists heading from Sharjah to Dubai via King Faisal Street will need to take alternative routes until October 11, after the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) announced a temporary closure for roadworks. The closure, which began on Friday (October 3), affects the exit from King Faisal Street onto Al Wahda Road. Authorities said the works are part of a broader infrastructure development project to ease congestion and improve safety along one of Sharjah’s busiest corridors. “The closure is part of our ongoing strategy to improve traffic flow and connectivity between vital areas,” SRTA said, urging drivers to strictly follow diversion signs and observe speed limits for everyone’s safety. Alternative routes have been set up through Al Nad, Al Majaz 2, Abu Shagara, Budanq and the 4th Industrial Zone. The SRTA assured residents that the project is on track to be completed on schedule, with the exit reopening on October 11.
