Sharjah man cuts off penis to avoid marriage

  SHARJAH – In what doctors have described as a rare case, a man in Sharjah cut off his penis after his family forced him to remarry. The 26-year-old Asian man, whose identity was not revealed, was rushed to the hospital by his brother following the incident. Doctors at Al Qasimi Hospital were able to re-attach the man's dismembered organ after a three-hour surgery. The man is suspected of suffering from mental illness. He reportedly became distraught after his family forced him to remarry even though he has a wife in his home country. Sharjah police are expected to interrogate the man after he is discharged from the hospital.
