A domestic dispute turned violent in Sharjah, leaving a 28-year-old man and his 40-year-old girlfriend hospitalized after a knife attack and an attempted suicide. According to Sharjah Police, the incident unfolded in a residential area after an argument escalated between the couple. The man, who was under the influence of drugs, stabbed his girlfriend in the abdomen before inflicting a self-inflicted wound to his leg. The altercation came to light when the girlfriend’s mother heard loud shouting and immediately called an ambulance. Both individuals were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Police officials confirmed that both the man and the woman are now in custody. The man is held at the Wasit Police Station, while the woman has been transferred to central jail. The man was found to be consuming narcotics during the altercation, according to police. Investigations are ongoing, and the case has been referred to public prosecution. ICA/Expat Media
