An Emirati man was rescued and airlifted to hospital after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident in Rafada desert, Al Madam, authorities said. Sharjah Police said its Operations Centre received the report at 7:09am on Sunday (September 7), prompting immediate deployment of rescue teams. The operation was carried out in coordination with the National Search and Rescue Centre of the National Guard, which dispatched a helicopter to evacuate the victim. The man, who suffered moderate injuries, was flown to Al Dhaid Hospital where he received medical treatment. Doctors confirmed that his condition was stable and he has since been discharged. Sharjah Police emphasized the importance of safe practices when engaging in desert motorcycling. Authorities urged riders to follow approved regulations, avoid reckless driving, and refrain from entering rugged or remote areas where emergency access is difficult. The public was reminded to call 901 for non-emergencies and 999 for emergencies.
